Corey Alston currently serves as band director for both Lakeridge High School

and Waluga Junior High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon. His responsibilities include

Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Stage Band at Lakeridge, along with the 7th and 8th grade bands at Waluga.

Mr. Alston received his Bachelor of Music Education degree with distinction

from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana in June

2009. While at the Jacobs School, he studied classical saxophone with Thomas Walsh

and Otis Murphy, and performed under the batons of Stephen Pratt, Brian Doyle, Scott Weiss and Paul Popiel. He completed his student teaching at Lawrence Central High

School in Indianapolis, Indiana, a performing arts program nationally recognized for

excellence.

Mr. Alston’s professional affiliations include MENC: National Association for

Music Education, Indiana Music Educators’ Association, Oregon Music Educators’

Association, National Band Association and Kappa Kappa Psi national honorary band

fraternity.
